We have wristbands! £1 each to look incredibly cool. £2 for the complete Cambodia look.

"We swam the channel..."

...and remained at in Crook Lodge, Bexleyheath.

 

A BIG WELL DONE to the people involved in completing the channel swim.

 

The Cambodia team were demoralised to find out the channel is actually 1300 lengths, not 1000 (as Cong orignally calculated... he teaches Maths). However, the team soldiered on and completed the challenge in an hour and a half.

 

There were a few honoury Team Cambodia members who helped. A massive thanks to them! They are as follows:

 

CELIA CLARK and daughter (who counted all the lengths!)

Celia's husband - who helped by swimming a grand total of 210 lengths! He also had special MP3 goggles, which was why he swam so many.

 

AMY (LANGUAGES TEACHER) swam over 160 lengths!

Swim to Cambodia anyone?

"Would you like help packing your bags?"

Thursday 13th October 2011. The Cambodia team went down to Morrisons in force, led by Mr Jarvis. Dress in all red polo shirts, the team had an imposing presence at the end of each till.

"Would you like help packing your bags?" Tough. No choice.

"Keep it square!" (or just throw it in.. same thing)

"Don't over pack!" Bags were full to the brim.

We managed to raise £380 in 2.5 hours. Might have to quit my day job. Thanks Morrisons!



Friday 14th October 2011. Bag packing cancelled. Time to call in the Director.

A few minutes later. The Director emerges from the depths of Morrisons beaming, with a bruised and battered member of staff at Morrisions following behind. What happens in Morrisons, stays in Morrisons.

"We have 20 weeks of bag packing". That's a potential £20,000. Hello, Cambodia.

Dance Relief 2011

Dance Relief was a huge success raising £200+ in the process. Camera phones and video photography was banned in the dance arena. However, we have manged to secure some covert pictures taken from an unnamed source. 

Mr Morgan rocked out/freestyled to Yellow Submarine. The Beatles would have been proud. In fact, rumour has it, Mr. Morgan was the fifth member of The Beatles. And his inspirational dance has brought back speak of a come back tour. You heard it here first.

Dan Lloyd led Tommy in a medley of dances show casing their ability across a multitude of disciplines ranging from the "Soulja Boy", Ballet to "Wiggling". There were a few heart warming moments and some lovely poses. All in all, it was intense stuff and they were deserving winners.

In other news, Sir Forsyth managed take time out of his busy schedule (one of the advantages of being knighted is free access to the Welling School Dance Relief - an offer Sir Forsyth could not refuse) and caught a glimpse of the inspiration that is the Maths Department doing what they claim was the Macarena.

Here's what he had to say about the show

Lovely words there from Sir Forsyth. May he forever grace our screens.

11 October 2011.

The 11th hour (Dance Relief is tomorrow!)

Ok so somehow we've been signed up for dance relief. We're advertised as the Maths department and it would be great if as many of us could get up there as possible, it is for charity! I've also invited a couple of other teachers who I know have got some moves and I'd be privilged if they could become associate Maths department members for just one dance. 

So to keep it simple I think we should do the Marcarena. The kids will love it and most will probably jump up and join in. Have attached a little instruction video below if you are a bit rusty. No practice required.

At long last I have heard from Committee and it is OK to hire out hall for indoor Bootsale. The only Saturday in 2012 that I have available is 22nd October anytime during the day or Saturday 1st December 9.00 till 2.00 pm or Saturday 10th December 9.00 till 2.00 pm.

Let me know if these are any good to you if not I can let you have loads of dates in 2012.
